We are looking for outstanding post-doc researchers, with significant expertise in Brain Computer Interfaces (BCI) to join our fast-growing multidisciplinary team. You will be asked to play a leading role, involving also coordination of interdisciplinary teams, as well as coordination and implementation of research and development activities.

You have the opportunity to contribute in creating a new generation of Brain Computer Interfaces fusing cutting-edge machine learning, neuroscience and embedded systems, applied across various projects with top level academic and industrial partners.

Responsibilities

• You will be co-responsible for the design and implementation of a ML-powered BCI framework shared among various projects

• You will be co-responsible for the creation, validation and implementation of ML-based BCI models

• You will be co-responsible for the implementation of the BCI on high-end embedded platforms such as Jetson TX2 from Nvidia

• You will be co-responsible for drafting and influencing the direction of BCI-related research

• You will coordinate a small team of talented multidisciplinary researchers

• You will cooperate with top level neuroscientist within existing collaborative frameworks

• You will collaborate in drafting project proposals, papers, patents and reports


Required Criteria

• Master degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or Physics or Mathematics or other relevant technical field

• PhD in Neural Engineering, Computational Neuroscience or related fields

• Proven sound experience in developing BCIs, real time analysis of EEG signals with ML techniques, familiarity with signal data acquisition and processing, innovative BCI paradigms

• At least 3 years of academic, industry or open-source backed coding experience in modern programming languages (Python essential; Matlab, C, C++ are a strong plus)

• Solid background in Machine Learning theory; academic or open-source backed coding experience with Machine Learning frameworks like Tensor Flow, Keras, Scikit-learn are a plus

• Knowledge and previous experience in ROS (Robot Operating System) is a plus.

• Team working capabilities and flexibility but also strong autonomy in working by objective

• Good communication skills in English


Desired Criteria

• Wants to build her/his career in EEG-based BCI

• Enjoys writing efficient algorithms, suitable for modern multi-core embedded platforms with GPU such Jetson TX2 or smaller parallel processors like PULP. In other words, feels at home with cloud, desktop, fog (and, ideally, edge) computing

• Is open minded and enjoys approaching complex problems with a multi-disciplinary approach
