TRANSFLEKT LV

ITS TIME FOR TRANSIENT FAULT LOCATION

Transient faults on the LV network are notoriously difficult to locate. They can disappear for long periods of time before recurring in a flurry of activity, or simply persist over long durations as “pecking” faults lasting only a few milliseconds. To ease these problems, Kelvatek has developed the TRANSFLEKT, a unique transient cable fault locator based on well proven Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) principles.

Features & Benefits

TRANSFLEKT IS THE PERFECT TOOL FOR FAULT LOCATION STAFF.

TRANSFLEKT can be installed, connected to faulty circuits for long periods of time, communicating with the remote server to allow notification of fault activity when it occurs. Full three phase voltage and current capturing capability allows the identification of even the shortest transient faults, with the associated TDR data captured allowing the location of these faults before they become persistent or permanent.

TRANSFLEKT perfectly complements Kelvatek’s SELF fault location devices allowing triangulation of fault positions in complex, multi-branched networks.

TRANSFLEKT LV
  • Full three phase transient capture
TRANSFLEKT is capable of monitoring three phase voltages and currents for transient activity. Its inbuilt TDR will automatically capture 100 TDR datasets around the point of transient activity and forward these to the server for diagnosis. TDR data can be captured in any phase to neutral or phase to phase configuration using 4 measuring ranges up to 2km and with an industry leading 1m capture resolution.
  • Simple PoweR
TRANSFLEKT normally takes its power from the cable under test, and can be powered from any phase to neutral or phase to phase voltage, allowing operation even when the system neutral is faulty. An optional battery pack can provide power in those extreme occasions when all three phase voltages may be lost.
  • Multiple Installation Choices
TRANSFLEKT can be installed in a number of locations – at the substation, in linkboxes, in customer premises or even at a cut cable end.
  • No software required
All methods of controlling TRANSFLEKT require only a web browser – easing software deployment and licensing issues.
